the last few BUSY days

Wednesday night, Drew had his first scrimmage of the ball season. I don't think anyone really kept score, but our boys did well. I believe Drew was 6th in the batting order, hitting off a VERY good pitcher. NO ONE before him got a hit off him, but Drew DID!!! It was a pop up, and ended up being caught but what a great way to start the season. "G", Adam and I were all VERY impressed. The next 2 times he was up, he got walked, and ended up coming home both times as well. They learned a lot and I think had a lot of fun.

After I got out of work on Friday, I picked Bryce up from school and took him to St. Mary's med express. He seemed to be babying his right foot for about a week now, and we thought it was time to see what he did to it. They took 3 x-rays of it, and decided it wasn't broke, but think he pulled the ligament that runs the bottom of your foot. Possibly while playing soccer and being in the "pile" of kids all kicking the ball. Maybe he got kicked, who knows. We just know he hasn't been "full force" playing for a week. We were told to stretch it on a can of soup and ice it. They wrapped it and we were off.

Friday night Adam and I tried out the boys new baby sitter. She is 15 and lives next door. She will watch the boys in the summer when "G" and Papa or Grandma KayKay are busy. She got here about 6:20 and met the boys. Bryce showed her around a bit while Drew did home work!! (yes home work on a Friday night, possibly trying to impress his new babysitter?!?!) When we left, Bryce and the babysitter were playing on the new air hockey table. Bryce beat her but I think she was taking it easy on him, til she gets to know him better, LOL. He goes full force in all sports, LOL. They said they played PIG outside. She said they were a "JOY" WOW!! We will have her over a few more times before we throw her into an 8-9 hr shift in the summer.

Saturday we all got up early, and headed in different directions. Adam and Drew headed to Reese for baseball pics at 8:40AM. Bryce and I headed to Frankenmuth for a soccer game at 9AM. BRRRR was it cold. The wind wouldn't stop. Drew's pics got done rather quickly, and they were on their way to the soccer game. Bryce played the 1st quarter, sat the 2nd, played the 3rd and sat the 4th, as his foot was bugging him. He was limping around quite a bit. He didn't want to sit 2 times, but didn't really argue with us either. We got home and iced it. After about 45 minutes at home, we were off again. Drew had opening ceremonies at noon, having to be there at 11:30. He then played his first game against a really good friend of his. They ended up loosing 11-2. Was a very good learning game, as our infield had many mistakes. Hopefully they learned how to back each other up, and will improve as we go along. Drew didn't do as well as he did at his scrimmage. I wonder if the uniforms change things in their minds. They played against the team they had just scrimmaged, but looked like a different team. I told Drew, it's just clothes, same team. Nothing different. O well. They had a good time, and thats all that counts. Drew left with his good friend that just beat us, for the evening. Adam, Bryce and I walked over to find Tommy playing. We watched him for a bit and played with that CUTE little brother of his. What a different between Majors and Minors. Then we walked over and found my friend from works daughter playing softball. Stayed there for a bit, but with the wind blowing so bad, we decided we had enough sand on our faces. UGH. Off to nap then get dinner and Drew.
Drew is 6th from the left. (looking left)

Drew is 4th.

Sunday we woke up, and went to Church. Drew had to acolyte. It was also confirmation at our Church. It was a long service, but we all made it thru. We ran home, changed our clothes, threw a veggie tray together and were off to Grandma's house. (boys great Grandma) to help clean up her yard and move stones. The boys had a blast riding around on Uncle Mike's 4 wheeler, hauling leaves and stuff. Bryce painted Great Grandma's cross with his cousin. They even got out their flag football set and had a short game of that. While the BIG boys were cutting down a tree and had the whole family EXCEPT 2 watching, Bryce and his cousin Alec were playing catch. Alec was the catcher and Bryce was pitching it to him. I think Alec was quite impressed for a 6 yr old. They were budding it up a bit more and went on a few 4 wheeler rides. We grilled hot dogs and brats and celebrated a few birthdays. Had cake and ice cream. I think we got lots done, but there is lots more to get done.

I rambled on long enough. Off to clean house and put laundry away for a bit. This week we have Soccer and Baseball Tuesday and Thursday nights. T-ball practice Mon and Wed nights. Concession stand Wed night. Adam goes to a foot Dr. on Friday while Bryce and I go on his end of the year field trip!! Can't believe this school year is about done!! CRAZY!!

Good postie Sherri! Sounds like lots of excitement in your household these days.

Funny how you think majors are such a difference. I was thinking the same thing compared to coach pitch. Lots of fun eh?

We'll have to do something soon, it will probably be summer though knowing us.

Yeah gosh now you have me thinking back 4 years to coach pitch with Drew. The regular season hasn't quite started yet for Bryce (sat) so I am sure it will bring back memories, although Drew played in Tuscola. Tommy did great on Saturday. It was good to see them again.

I'm so up for some bingo (adults only) or some swimming or something fun with us and the boys!!!
